"Gaudium et Spes" (Church in the world)  Chapter 4: 42

Jesus taught us to care for the poor, the sick, the hungry, prisoners.
Therefore ever since the time of Jesus,
Christians have shown a special concern for the poor

The Church is open to serving all people of all nations.
She does not turn her back on any group.

Jesus, please don't let Christians grow cold in their love for the poor
