The rich have had the money to engage in the arts, music etc.
Poor people don't go to many concert recitals

Historically, the Church has been a patron of culture.
Vatican II is calling for the Church to be a patron of culture for the poor!

Jesus, may Church leaders be as interested in making friends with the poor
as they are in making friends with the rich and powerful
