God's plan to save and redeem the human family
was to set up a spiritual family

So God chose the race of Israel
to begin his spiritual family

With that family God made a solemn joint-venture agreement.
Step by step God taught and prepared that family
to have as many descendants as there are stars in the sky

All the time God had one special descendant in mind: the Messiah,
the one who would be a light for all the nations
and the glory of the people of Israel

Jesus, help us understand
how the concept of Israel
was basically a spiritual family,
embracing all nations,
not just a certain tribe
on a particular plot of land
