All Christians are called to follow and imitate Jesus

Bishops must especially imitate Jesus the Good Shepherd,
ready to lay down their lives for their people

Priests imitate Jesus in their daily prayer for and service of their people.
Priests should nourish their life of service by an abundance of personal prayer

I recently heard someone say that priests are less and less likely to receive government pensions.
You've got to live to about 65 to get a pension.
A shortage of priests mean that overworked priests are in danger of never making it to 65

This article speaks of priests in the Philippines saying 9 Masses in one day!
(...not much time for "an abundance of personal prayer"...)

Jesus, please help all priests and bishops be good shepherds.
Please move the pope to do something about the shortage of priests
