Reflection 396
Based on the 1965 Vatican II document: |
These articles say how the member of Eastern
Churches not in communion with Rome
and "Roman Catholics" may share each other's sacraments of Penance,
Eucharist and Anointing of the Sick
Recently I heard of a tiny community of
Christians in a remote part of Australia.
A priest visits once a month and they have a Catholic Mass.
Two other Sundays, other pastors visit and they attend their services.
On the final one or two Sundays, when no priest/pastor visits, they conduct
their own service.
At all the above services they share in each other's Eucharists
This of course is not allowed by the present
Vatican.
But it was the vision towards which Vatican II was working.
And Jesus, something tells me you are happy with the above
arrangement!
