This article reminds us that missionary work is a joint venture:
missionaries in the field, people "at home" supporting the missionaries spiritually and materially

"Materially" has always been stressed - collections, appeals etc

"Spiritually" - I wonder how seriously this has been taken

Years ago Pope John Paul II said in a talk to priests:
"Ask people to pray for you every day"

I wonder how many Catholics say a prayer each day for a priest

A simple prayer like this: "Jesus, please bless Fr ..(name).."
