This chapter is about
"Sacred Music"
and mentions, among other things,
how church music may be in the local language
A recent tactic of the
"reform of the reform" people
is to get control of hymn selection, music, choir
....and then to use more and more Latin songs
...which means the bulk of the congregation is left in splendid silence
Which is not what Chapter 6 had in mind as it explicitly says:
"Choirs must be diligently promoted, but bishops
and other pastors of souls must be at pains to ensure that,
whenever the sacred action is to be celebrated with song,
the whole body of the faithful may be able to contribute that active
participation which is rightly theirs"
Jesus, you who sang for your Last
Supper,
please help us understand
how "people who sing, pray twice"
