Correct pronunciation

Recently on the MTR I met a man whose accent seemed to indicate he was from Northern China. But when I asked him "Were you born on the Mainland?" he replied
 "No, I was burn in Hong Kong". Sometimes I still hear some older people say "flied lice" () instead of "fried rice". Here's a checklist to help avoid some common mistakes

hello "he-lo"  or   "hel-o" Not    "haaaaar-lo"
L    "el" Not  "el-o".
R  "ar" Not "ar-o".
  "MTR" is "m-t-ar",   not "m-t-ar-o"
moon  "oo" as in the surname "Poon" (..) not "mun" as in 
Z "tsed" (UK) or "tsee" (US) Not "e-tsed" or "e-tsee".
If you use your phone to tell someone that your email address is "liza@8.com"
 but you say "loiza@8.com" or "lieza@8.com",  you won't get any messages!
When I hear adults, even some teachers, giving small children the wrongs sounds,
I feel very sad. Let's help our children get off to a good start in learning English!
