This weekend is Easter, and Thursday of next week is Ching Ming.
The two festivals have a common theme: the "afterlife", the life after this life. In recent decades many books and media programs have been dedicated  to what are called "after this life experiences" or "near death experiences".

One recent book about the afterlife, Proof of Heaven, has been on the New York Times best seller list for the past five months, and has sold more than one million copies.

The book is written by a US neurosurgeon Dr Eben Alexander who had a remarkable experience when he was in a coma in 2008. His badly damaged brain went from total inactivity to awakening. He awoke a changed person, certain of life after death.

One of the main things Dr Even experienced was an overwhelming feeling of being loved. He kept hearing the words "You are loved". This book has the effect of giving purpose to life, and causing most people who read it to buy a copy for someone else.  "Proof of Heaven" is a really good read at this time of Ching Ming and Easter!
