August 9, 2016      Mainland tourists cheated in Australia

Hello from Australia where I'm attending a special anniversary function as a guest of my old school Iona College in Brisbane.

On the day I arrived I met a local bus driver who is sometimes employed by Mainland tour groups visiting the nearby Gold Coast. He told me that Chinese tour operators use the same tactics as in HK.

Mainland tourists are taken to an endless round of shops and centres which have contacts with the tour operators. Tourists are allowed only a brief visit to the beautiful Gold Coast beaches.

And sometimes, when they visit a beach, they are charged for walking along the beach! That's like charging tourists to walk along Nathan Road!
