2005 insights into 2013 conclave
The
last conclave in April 2005 showed how a well-organized group who had met in
advance (mainly at the Opus Dei headquarters on the Viale Bruno Buozzi in Rome),
had chosen their candidate (Joseph Ratzinger) well before the conclave started,
could succeed. The brevity of the conclave showed that the majority of the
cardinals were disorganized and unprepared, including the supporters of Cardinal
Carlo Maria Martini, SJ.

This ties in with stories that Cardinal George Pell and a cardinal from South America (can someone please supply a name?) were the king-makers for Cardinal Ratzinger
Which means there is probably a queue of cardinals right now hoping to be the selected candidate of the same above group...to be the one to carry on the JPII-B16 version of orthodoxy
At
the front of the queue would have to be the king-makers of 2005 - "time to repay
us"
And Cardinal Pell has not been shy about wanting to be pope
In 1999, Joseph
Girzone wrote an amazing piece about the 2005 conclave. His
words are applicable in 2013
