Daring Daniel's
previous reflections
At different time and in different places, five people prayed for their specific needs. One committed sin, he asked for forgiveness; another one was in a bondage, he prayed for freedom; the third one lived in exile, he was longing to come home; the fourth one lost direction in life, she did not know where to go and what to do, she asked to be able to see, to understand; finally, the last one was ill, he was asking for healing.
The All-merciful Lord heard all them and granted their prayers.
What is your problem? Is it sin, addiction, a life controlled by another? Are you unable to find a place you could call home? Have you lost direction in life or are spiritually blind? Perhaps you are ill?
If your problem is sin, you need forgiveness;
if you are in bondage, you need to be set free;
if your problem is life in exile, you need homecoming;
if you are blind, you need to see;
if you are ill, you need healing.
Know your problem and then pray accordingly. Do not ask for forgiveness if the thing you need is freedom; do not ask for freedom, if what you need is a pathway to come home. Know your problem and pray accordingly.
Remember the story from the Gospel of Mark. A blind Bartimeaus was asked by Jesus: "what do you want me to do for you?" His answer was: "I want to see!" He did not not say, "Lord, forgive me sins"; he said, "I want to see", because blindness was his problem.
Today
Jesus is asking you the same question:
"what do you want me to do for you?"
What is your answer?
