Moving to Ireland

I’m preparing to go away, to leave Canada , for Ireland .  I’m excited to follow the Lord to Ireland , but I’m also thinking about all the people that I will probably never see again.  It’s a very strange thing to “leave your nets” and follow Christ, not knowing, what the future brings, but just trusting and following.

Interestingly, my grandfather came to Canada from Ireland and Scotland , 100 years ago, this year! I imagine, Grandfather Charlie Starrs, would say, I left my home to give you a life in the land of plenty and you want to go back!  Why?

I must leave Canada, as a prophet is never accepted in his/her own country.  This has been my discipleship story for most of my adult life.  A door has opened in Ireland, in Donegal, and I pray with each step that I take, that I will find “hearts” that are ready to receive the Lord.

I am reminded of St. Paul ’s words:  “Pray that a door opens for us to proclaim the Good News”.  I fell head over heels in love with Ireland last July, and I suppose, it really was no surprise, as I felt drawn to the Emerald Isle, my entire life.

Ireland, shows great signs of renewal and I hope and pray that I may contribute even in some small way to the creation of “new life”, that Christ has for the Catholic Church of Ireland.  I know that I go with the blessing of the Trinity, of Mary, of St. Patrick, and all my Irish Ancestors who enjoy eternal bliss with God, among the Communion of Saints.
