September means change for many people whether that’s starting a new job, moving into a new home, or returning to school. Then in many places there is the changing of the seasons. 

I am musing these days about what changes will not only happen for me as I journey deeper into my fledgling life in Ireland, but, what changes are pending for the universal church? We know that there are issues on the agenda for Pope Francis as he continues to try to initiate reforms of this ancient and colossal universal church. We are all awaiting to see what appears as if the entire church were expecting Christmas Morning! 

Somehow I do not anticipate an ordinary September! Where I have been for the past few weeks is a place called Holy Hill Hermitages in Skreen Sligo. It is breathtaking scenery here with the woodlands, mountains, and Sligo Bay and all visible from the main house at the retreat center.
