I recently read the theologian, Eugene Cullen Kennedy’s article that appeared in the National Catholic Reporter on January 16^th, 2014:

Pope Francis to us: 'I am Vatican II'

While Eugene Kennedy very rightly concludes that Pope Francis appears to be Vatican II because of all his words and actions thus far, it is my contention, that to be truly Vatican II, he must do away with the archaic belief that Christ would not call women to teach, preach, and sanctify, the duties identified with Holy Orders.

I know, I know, Rome wasn’t built in a day….and the Roman Catholic Church changes very slowly. How long did it take the RC Church to accept that the earth was round?
