Yes, the RC Church needs to wade into contemporary issues and address them with the compassion and authority of Christ, and yet, there is a legitimate concern on the part of the magisterium. That concern is to do with the question of whether the RC Church must accommodate all sorts of lifestyles and beliefs that are a part of this worldly life. Maybe they do, if Jesus would.

There ought not to be an issue with gays and lesbians going to Church. The Gospel is for them too!. What is problematic for the RC Church is the sacraments and the current theology developed around those sacraments.

Does the Church tackle the issues raised at the Synod…..by….redeveloping theology? I suspect there are no resolutions, until, they do this.
