Monday’s Gospel Reading is Matthew, Chapter Five, commonly known as the "Beatitudes". The Beatitudes are 12 Christian Principles, as I call them. These "Christian Principles" contain the teaching and instruction of Jesus for His disciples and indeed for all of us who strive to live a Christian life. Each beatitude begins with the words, "Blessed are you." All of the beatitudes are important and ought to be contemplated regularly. I admit I do have a few favourites like, "Blessed are you who have a pure heart, you shall see God." "Blessed are you who are persecuted for my names’ sake, your reward is great in heaven". "Blessed are the peacemakers, for you shall be called the Children of God."
Enjoy meditating on the Beatitudes today!
