Losing your life for the Lord’s Sake is not a cake-walk, but, it is also true, that losing your life for the Lord’s sake means New Life.

What is that New Life with Christ, once you surrender all that you are and all that you have? Well, that all depends on what Christ’s mission is going to be for you, with you and through you. Know for sure that you will be "imitating Christ". You and He will be one in body, mind, heart, and spirit. He will always go before you and as he promises, "His Yolk is Easy and His Burden Light." Mind you, it doesn’t always feel that way.

Christ will send you out to "spread the Good News" and it is a unique call to each and every one who does take up his or her cross and follow Christ. Today’s Gospel reading has Jesus saying, "that He didn’t come to bring peace, but, rather he came to bring fire to the earth, and a sword that creates division, even in families. The Gospel presents a radical new way of living and being in this world, and not everyone is up to the challenge. For those who choose to follow Christ, there must a solid resolution to be with Christ and to promote the Gospel Message, even in the face of opposition and other loyalties.
