Dear Friends
On yesterday's menu there was a
story about Sri Lanka:
how Communion may be received in Colombo
only on the tongue (not hand) and only while kneeling (not standing)
By chance yesterday I met someone from Sri
Lanka.
I asked them about above story.
They said story was two years old.
They also said that Sri Lanka has never had Communion on hand.
I asked (somewhat disrespectfully) had they ever heard of Vatican II?
Answer: "if you come to our country you will understand"
I've never been to Sri Lanka, but I know many
people from there
and many people who have visited there.
This is the first time I've heard about "no Communion on hand"
Would anyone like to comment on this story?
....throw some background light on it?
Is there any other country (besides the Vatican...) which does not have
Communion on the hand?
