Dear Friends
Hope you have seen "this
week's smile" on lower right hand side of main menu.
Yesterday at a detention centre my heart went out to a man aged about 40
who has been sentenced for 2 months.
The man is blind.
Normally I don't ask inmates "why are you here",
but yesterday I did ask, and the answer was "for theft".
I let the conversation stop there, but still
scratching my head wondering
how a blind man could steal anything.
I also kept thinking: couldn't there be an
alternative form of "punishment" for a blind man?
Doesn't seem right to send a blind person to prison, especially not for a minor
offence
Reminds me of another occasion in the same
detention centre
where I met a man with no arms.
One of his fellow inmates, with the man's smiling approval,
joked that the man was in for pickpocketing

On this 22nd of the month,
Jesus please bless
the people of Zhejiang
(Please join me in praying for one
part of China each day of the month)
My Bible Plan for today = the readings of the 3rd Sunday of Easter
Thank you for a prayer
God bless!
