Dear Friends
Today is another anniversary for me.
On this day in 1953, I made my First Holy Communion
- and still have the
certificate of that happy day
The priest who gave me Communion and who
signed the certificate
was Fr Rudolph Blockinger OFM Cap. from the USA,
born August 2, 1886, died December 20, 1969
Fr Rudolph was expelled from the province of Gansu in China
after
being a missionary there from 1922 to 1952
I have often thought:
was it Fr Rudolph's prayers
which planted the seed of China in my heart?
Like Fr Rudolph
I also was expelled from China!
Thank you Fr Rudolph and Sisters of Mercy in Wynnum, Brisbane
for preparing my class for First Communion on this day 59 years ago
