Dear Friends

Yesterday I saw some 400 men in the "18C" section of Hei Ling Chau Island Prison.
Most of the men are in for drug-related problems. About 30 men are from China,
about 30 are from other countries (mainly Vietnam, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Indonesia),
and the rest are local Chinese men

Section 18C has a kitchen, two dining halls, a laundry,
six workshops, a hospital, and a special "solitary confinement unit".
Yesterday I went to all those sections and had the happiness of seeing
many, many men most interested in the recently printed Chinese editions
of "Simple Bible: Old Testament" and "Doctor Jesus".

The staff at the prison are extra friendly and helpful towards me.
Visiting the prison is a very special experience

In most of the sections there are a few really genuine Christians
who are close to the Lord and pray each day.

Yesterday I asked that special group, as I've been asking other special groups
in other prisons over the past month or two, to say a daily prayer for my dear
sister-in-law Yvonne who is back in hospital on the Gold Coast in Australia
....very weak now but staying brave in her 6-year fight with cancer

I say to the above groups:
the Bible says "The Lord hears the prayers of the poor"
...meaning "your prayers are very special with God"

Jesus, may those men's prayers "pierce the clouds" and bring your healing help to Yve!
