Dear Friends
Yesterday
after visiting the isolation section at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre
I went for a swim in Correctional Services Staff Club Centre, next to prison.
My first swim in HK since 2001 (...though I had a few swims while working
in
China 2001-20080).
Atmosphere temperature during swim (5-5.30pm) was 32 degrees.
Temperature of water in pool: 29 degrees. Was it nice!
But I
nearly didn't make it. Was my first time for swim at the pool,
and on arrival I was told I was not a member. So I went back into prison
to see if someone could help me....only to find, coming out of main
gate,
was kind head of Welfare section, who had just finished work, and instead of
going home,
was going to a "function" (let the reader discern) at same club.
At the very time I needed someone to help me, someone materialised.
He signed me in and said he'd arrange that in future I will be an honorary
member
As I
lounged in pool, I thought about something I'd read at home a few hours before,
from "To Heaven and Back" by Dr Mary C. Neal (p.98):
"have you ever shown up somewhere at 'just the right time'? Has something
ever happened that left you
thinking 'that's weird'? Consider whether these are sets of 'coincidences'...or
evidence of God's hand in our lives". !!!
