Dear Friends
Fish and Chips!
Very, very hot in HK these days. Only (..) 33-34 degrees, but with two typhoons in the neighbourhood, the heat is extra strong...something like that of Adelaide or Melbourne in February....just going outside makes one feel like chips cooking in a frying pan. With severe air pollution to boot
Yesterday on boat to Hei Ling Chau Island drug centre, I watched some "wanabee" seagulls following the ferry...white birds...smaller than gulls...trying to catch fish coming to surface in ferry's wake. Poor fish up against combination of man and bird
But even sadder is situation of some 8 small fish in fish tank at hospital section of one part of the drug cetnre....because sharing their tank is a 24" Red Tail Catfish....who, I am told, each night when the lights go out, goes fishing. I noticed that when RTC moves, the little ones keep moving. They only stop moving then RTC stops. Poor things....literally on death row in the prison!
