Dear Friends
Yesterday I visited a prison and saw many inmates riveted on a TV program showing during their lunch time. Not an ordinary riveting, but an almost addictive-type riveting, to the point of being oblivious to anyone and anything around them.
An unhealthy type of riveting
And I couldn't help thinking about the theme of the dumbing down of society, about which I've read a lot in recent years, and written a little
What a contradiction: At a time when electronic communication is developing at a phenomenal rate, we humans are gradually reverting to a more primitive type of life, made up of eating, sleeping and entertainment
Hope I'm wrong
