Dear Friends
For many years Falun Gong has had photo exhibitions in many parts of Hong Kong, especially in areas visited by Mainland tourists.....just as they have photos outside Chinese Consulate-Generals all over the world
But last Saturday night when I went to Tsim Sha Tsui to collect items for prisoners, I saw a new set of banners: denouncing Falun Gong, describing it as an evil cult, and calling for HK people to avoid it in order "to cherish our lives"
Saturday night banners had at the bottom the name "Hong Kong Youth Care Association", which had this English teacher wondering did that mean a group that cares about youth, or a youth group that cares (about what?)....which means it's just a front from the Mainland to counter the FG folk
So...HK
is becoming a battleground as the Mainland flexes its cockles and muscles trying
to reign in freedom of speech etc.
