Dear Friends
Yesterday at Lai Chi Kok detention centre I visited a "day room" of 80 men, of whom a dozen or so are very devout Muslims. Several times a day they join together for prayer
Often
on a Thursday afternoon around 4pm I see the Muslim men on their prayer mats -
standing, bowing, kneeling, bowing down to the floor.
I usually join them for a few minutes as a sign of solidarity. I just kneel on
the edge of their mat area
Yesterday a Chinese man asked me "Why did you join the Muslims for prayer?" I answered "Because they are honoring God, the same God we Christians honor, the same God who made the whole human family"
