Dear Friends
During
my visit to Hei Ling Chau Drug Treatment Centre yesterday I visited a man in
solitary confinement (...for breaking a few rules...).
SC means loss of privileges like newspapers, cigarettes etc.
But Bibles are allowed.
A few weeks ago I gave him a copy of the Simple Bible - New Testament (Chinese
edition) which he didn't read....until his first day in solitary
A few hours after reading from the NT the SC man did something he hadn't done for more than 10 years: he wrote a letter to his parents....with whom he has had no contact for more than 10 years. He presumes they are still alive in HK
The
NT influenced him, moved him, to reach out to his parents
Somewhere in HK today, an elderly couple are reading and re-reading their son's
letter....talking about it to relatives and friends..."our son has made
contact"
Should say: when I gave him the NT I had no idea of his family situation. He never said anything. But he did have the good will to accept the NT
c.f. this coming Sunday's Gospel of the "Prodigal Son"
Recent photos - see link below ("Recent HK photos")
God bless all on my sick list, in HK,
Australia, China and other places,
- especially dear friends battling cancer.....
Thank you for a prayer
God bless!
