Exodus
26-27: God said to Moses:
"Make a cover for the sacred
tent.
Make the cover's support frames of acacia wood.
Make a veil of purple, violet and red
behind which to put the sacred chest.
Make an altar out of acacia wood.
Make altar vessels out of bronze.
Make a sacred courtyard to go around the tent.
Place a sacred flame outside the veil
and keep the flame burning from night till morning."

Psalm
138: I thank you, Lord, with all my heart.
You have heard the words of my mouth. With the angels I will bless you.
I will adore you in your holy temple. I thank you for your faithfulness and love
which are far above what we can understand. On the day I called you answered.
You increased the strength of my soul. All earth's kings shall thank you
when they hear the words of your mouth. They shall sing of the Lord's ways:
"How great is the glory of the Lord!" Though I walk in the midst of affliction
you give me life and frustrate my foes. Your love, O Lord, is eternal.
Do not abandon us whom you have made.
Lord, when we remember how much
you love us and help us, every day of the year is a Thanksgiving Day

James
1.1-12:
From James, servant of God and of the Lord
Jesus Christ.
Greetings to believers scattered around the world. You will always have difficulties and things
going wrong.
When they happen, praise God for them and patiently keep going.
Blessed are people who stand firm when trials
come. They have proved themselves, and will win the prize of eternal life
which the Lord has promised to those who love him
Jesus, please give me patience and praise

Mark
5:
A prayer hall official, Jairus, fell at
Jesus' feet and pleaded "My little daughter is dying. Please come and
lay your hands on her and save her life". While Jesus was on the way to
Jairus' home,
people arrived and told Jairus "Your daughter is dead. No need
to trouble the Master any further". Jesus heard this and said to Jairus "Do
not be afraid. Just have faith". Jesus allowed only Peter, James and
John to go with him. At Jairus' home, everyone was weeping and
wailing.
Jesus said to them "Why all this crying? The child is not dead, but
asleep". Everyone laughed at him.
So he got them all to leave. Then taking the girl's parents and his 3
companions, he went to the place where the child was lying. Taking the girl by the hand he said to her
"Little girl, I tell you to get up". The little girl got up at
once. She was 12 years old.
Jesus, please give us more
faith to pray for the sick
....even for children who have died!

Psalm 137:
By the rivers of Babylon we sat and cried,
remembering Zion.
On the poplars that grew there we hung up our harps. For it was there that they asked us, our
captors, for songs.
"Sing to us", they said, "one of Zion's songs". O how could we sing the song of the Lord on
alien soil?

if I remember you not, Jerusalem, above all my joys.

Hebrews
13.8-21: Jesus Christ is the same today as he was
yesterday and as he will be for ever. Do not let yourselves be led astray by strange
doctrines
that teach a different Jesus. Jesus died outside the city. Let us go to him
and share his rejection. Our life in this world is a temporary
arrangement, like a tent. We look for a permanent home in the life to come.
Keep doing good works and sharing your

Hello from HK airport late Sat morning where I'm
waiting for flight to Australia .... due to arrive late tonight so I am
posting this menu a little early. In Australia I'm due to attend an in-service
program. Due back HK March 13.
HK airport used to be one of the busiest places in the world, but these days
it's like a semi-deserted village. Check in took less than one minute; security
check one minute; immigration (using the mighty HK ID card) 30 seconds
Virus: As I read the latest reports I can't help feeling the world urgently needs to curtail travel (as I wait for flight!), to require all arriving passengers from anywhere to take part in a quarantine program (since even if they have not been to China they might have been in contact with people who are infected) .... and ... Olympic Games needs to be put on hold? .... and we urgently need help from Heaven! *** Virus has brought an Australian town to its knees (... "on our knees" is where we will spend more time as virus spreads?)

Leviticus
19: God's words through
Moses: "Be holy, for I, the Lord your God, am holy. Honor your father and
mother. The Sabbath must be a holy day. When you collect from harvest or
vine, leave something for the poor and the stranger. Be just, honest and
truthful in your relationships. Do not
let hatred live in your heart".
Dear God, please help me live according to your sacred word
My
recording of this reading

Psalm
103: My soul, give thanks to the Lord. All
my being, bless his holy name. My soul, give thanks to the Lord and never forget
all his blessings. It is he who forgives
all your guilt, who heals every one of your ills. It is he who fills your
life with good things, renewing your youth like an eagle's life. The Lord is
compassion and love, slow to anger and rich in mercy. As the heavens are high
above the earth so strong is his love for those who love him. As far as the East
is from the West, so far does he remove our sins. As a father has compassion on
his children, the Lord has pity on all who love and honor him. Give thanks to
the Lord, all his angels, who heed the voice of his word. Give thanks to the
Lord, everyone and everything. My soul, give thanks to the Lord!
Thank you, Lord, for your love and compassion

Corinthians 3.5-15: Apollos
and I are servants who brought the faith to you. I did the planting, Apollos did
the watering, but God made things grow. You are God's building. By God's grace,
I laid the foundation, the only foundation there can be: Jesus Christ. On
that foundation you can build a house with good or poor materials. At the
end of your life, your building will be judged by God.
Jesus, you are the foundation of my life. Help me build a house with good
material (= good deeds)

Matthew
5.13-48: Jesus said to the crowds: You are
the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, it's no use for anything.
You are the light of the world. Let the world see your light, your good deeds.
When people see you doing good deeds, people will praise God. I have not come to
abolish the Jewish religion. I have come to raise it to a higher level of
goodness. Your goodness must not just be something superficial. Your goodness
must be something from the heart. You
must avoid anger and insult, just like you avoid murder. If you have
offended someone, say "Sorry". You must avoid lustful looks and
thoughts. Looking at someone lustfully is immorality of the heart. Love
and pray for people who are unkind to you. This is the way to practise
the highest level of goodness.
Jesus, please help me practise a higher level of goodness

Today I am due to fly to Australia for in-service course in Melbourne. Due to return to HK March 13. Has been a busy time the past few days finishing jobs from Africa ... and yesterday I spent time with a man from Latin America whose father is hoping to apply for bail (after being tricked to bring drugs to HK from Sao Paulo) ... which reminds me, the elderly man who was given bail last week has already returned to his native Italy. 24:
God invited Moses, Aaron, Nadab and 70

to see him face to face. They saw God face to face and ate and drank in his
presence.
Under God's feet the ground was like a pure blue jewel.
God then invited Moses to go up the mountain.

Moses stayed on the mountain for about 40 days.

5.24-34: A large crowd gathered around Jesus near the
side of the Sea of Galilee. In the crowd was a woman who had suffered from
bleeding for 12 years. She had spent all her money on doctors, but
they had been unable to help her. She had heard about Jesus. She came up behind
him in the crowd and touched his cloak. "If I can touch even his
clothes, I will be healed" she said to herself. As soon as she touched Jesus' cloak, the
source of the bleeding dried up at once. Aware that power had gone out
from him, Jesus turned round and said "Who touched me?" The woman fell at his feet and told her story.
Jesus said "My daughter, your faith has restored you to health. Go in
peace and be free from your illness".

Exodus 23: Moses told the people:
"Don't be unfair to anyone, friend or foe.

Work your land for six years,
then let the land rest and recover in the seventh year.
Three times a year you must celebrate special feasts:

On these three feasts
all men must present themselves before the Lord."

11.1 - 12.15:
Only faith can keep us going. Only faith
helped Abraham and other famous people in the Scriptures to keep going. So many of them were weak people who were
given strength by God, to be brave when life became difficult. With so many witnesses in a great cloud all
around us, we too should keep running in the race we have started. We
should get rid of everything that slows us down. Keep focusing on
Jesus. He is running beside us. His example going to the cross gives us courage.
Try to live at peace with everyone. Don't let

4.35-41: Jesus and his disciples got into a boat

Straight away the wind and sea were calm. Jesus' friends said to each other
"Who is this? Even the wind and sea obey him."

Mark
4.1-20: One day Jesus told the people this story:
A farmer was planting seeds in his field.
Some seeds fell on the path. Birds ate them. Some seeds fell on rocky ground.
They became sickly plants, without roots, and died. Some seeds fell among thorns.
When they became plants, they were choked by the thorns. Some seeds fell on good soil
and produced a rich harvest.
Jesus explained the story:
People who hear God's word without good will
are like the seeds on the path.
They are easy prey for Satan. People who hear God's word only superficially
are like the seeds on rocky ground.
As soon as difficulties come, such people easily give up. People who hear God's word with one ear
but with the other are listening to the call of greed and pleasure
are like the seeds among thorns. Greed kills the word. People who hear God's word with good will and
put it into practice
are like the good seeds which produced a rich harvest.
Jesus, please help me be good
seed!

For the past 10 years, when I've gone to nearby McDs once or
twice a week for morning green tea, I've often provided a meal for homeless
people who sleep at McDs (... God bless McDs for allowing them to sleep
overnight!). I just give the homeless people my Octopus card (which never has
more than a few hundred HKD on it), they get something to eat, and usually sit
with me. So it was yesterday ... but as one man and I were sitting together,
another guy who recognised me approached, saying "I'm just out of
prison" and asked for a meal. So I gave him my card .... but neither man
nor card came back! First time this has ever happened. In future ... if such a
request comes from a non-regular, I'll say "sure, but let me take good care

they set out to take care of him, thinking that he was crazy. His mother and brothers arrived at the house.
Standing outside, they sent in a message asking for him. Jesus was told "Your mother and brothers
and sisters are outside asking for you". Jesus replied
"Who are my mother and brothers?"
Then looking round at the people sitting in a circle about him, he said
"Here are my mother and my brothers. Anyone who does the will of God,
that person is my brother and sister and mother".
Jesus, please help me to do
your will,
even if people sometimes think I'm crazy

In the past a person who wore a mask was a bank robber etc.
But now in HK, where 99% of people are wearing masks, a person without a mask
feels like ... a ... criminal (doing something wrong ... not wearing a
mask)!

Exodus
20: The Ten Commandments given by God to
Moses:
1: I am the Lord your God. Do not worship anyone or anything else.
2: Use my name with respect. Do not insult my name.
3: Make the Sabbath Day a holy day each week.
4: Honor your father and your mother.
5: Do not kill.
6: Do not commit adultery.
7: Do not steal.
8: Do not tell lies.
9: Do not lust after someone else's wife.
10: Do not desire what belongs to someone else.
Dear
God, please help us to put these commandments into practice
My
recording of this reading

Psalm
130: Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice.
If you, O Lord, should
record our guilt,
Lord, who would survive? But with you is found
forgiveness.
For this we revere you. My soul is waiting for the Lord.
I count on his word. My soul is longing for the Lord
more than watchman for the daybreak. With the Lord there is mercy
and fullness of redemption. Israel indeed he will redeem
from all its iniquity.
Lord, please forgive me for all
the bad things I have done

Hebrews
8.9 - 9.14:
Jesus' priesthood is part of the new covenant
predicted in the Scriptures: "See, the days are coming - it is the
Lord who speaks - when I will establish a new covenant with the House of
Israel". Jesus
has come as High Priest of all the
blessings that were predicted would be part of the new covenant. He has offered not the blood of animals like
priests of the old covenant, but his own blood, by which he won our
redemption. His blood can purify our inner self from dead
actions,
to help us in our life of dedication to the living God
Jesus, by your precious blood, purify my heart
and protect me

Mark
3.13-19:
Jesus went up a hill and called his
disciples.
He chose 12 of them to be his special companions.
He commissioned them for preaching.
He gave them power to cast out devils. The names of the 12:
Simon, to whom he gave the name Peter;
James and John the sons of Zebedee. Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas,
James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot
and Judas Iscariot the one who would betray him.
Jesus, please bless and protect
all Gospel workers
