Exodus
39: The skilled workers
made the high
priest's vestments:
his ephod, his breastpiece, his robe.
Vestments were also made for the ordinary priests.
When everything for the whole Tent was finished,
Moses examined all the work.
He saw what a good job the workers had done.
Moses then blessed all the workers.
Dear
God, please help me always to do a good job
My
recording of this reading

Psalm
2: Why are the nations revolting against God?
Why won't the nations accept God? O kings and rulers of the
nations, listen to God's voice.
Serve the Lord with love and honor. Blessed are the nations that love
the Lord
Let all the nations love you,
Lord. Let all the nations love you
Listen

James
5.13-18:
If one of you is in trouble, pray. If you are
happy, sing a psalm. If someone is sick, send for the elders of the
church. They must anoint him with oil in the name of the
Lord, and pray
over him.
The prayer of faith will save the sick man and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.
Confess your sins to one another, and pray for
one another,
and this will heal you. The heartfelt prayer of a good person is very
powerful. Elijah prayed for rain, and rain came
Jesus, please help sick people have the
opportunity
to receive the "Anointing of the Sick"
Listen
Mark
8.22-26:
In the village of Bethsaida, a blind man was
brought to Jesus.
His friends begged Jesus to touch him. Jesus took the man by the hand and led him
outside the town.
Jesus put spittle on the man's eyes
and placed his hands on the man's eyes. "Can you see anything?" asked Jesus.
The man was starting to see and replied "I can see people. They look
like trees, but they are walking about". Jesus then placed his hands on the man's eyes
again, and he saw clearly. He was healed and could see everything clearly.
Jesus, heal my friend
....(name)...who is blind

Virus: When the very first case of Wuhan virus was reported - concerning just one person - I didn't understand why there was so much concern by world health authorities. Now I understand: one case means that many others who have been in contact with that person probably also are infected, and those many others have probably infected still many others and so on. Which means virtually every country in the world is in trouble .... which means we need to pray often each day for Heaven's help: Lord, have mercy!

Exodus
37-38: The skilled workers next made
the ark,
then the table for the bread
offerings,
then the lamp-stand and the altar of
incense.
Next they made the altar of
sacrifice,
the bronze basin
and the courtyard with its special

Psalm
1:
Happy the person who
avoids evil and evil entertainment.
Happy the person who reads and meditates on God's words. Such a
person is like a tree planted beside a river, getting plenty of
nourishment, bearing plenty of fruit. Such a
person is on the Way of Life.
People who do evil are on the Way of
Death.
Dear
Lord, please help me do good and avoid evil

James
5.1-6: Are you rich and powerful? Then start weeping
for the miseries that are coming your way. Your wealth is rotting, your clothes are being
eaten by moths.
And your body also will soon be corroding in a burning fire. You cheated your workers. You lived a life of luxury without any care for people who were suffering.
You condemned and killed the innocent
Jesus, give uncaring rich and powerful people a
change of heart
Listen

Mark
7.31-37: Jesus traveled through the area south of the
Sea of Galilee.
A deaf man with a speech impediment was brought to him. Jesus took the man aside in private, away from
the crowd.
He put his fingers into the man's ears and put spittle on his
tongue.
Then he prayed and said "Be opened".
The man's ears were opened and his speech became normal. The people said "He has done all things
well. He makes the deaf hear and the dumb speak".
Jesus, heal (..name..)
who is "deaf and dumb"

Virus: I'm beginning to think that "self-quarantine" needs to be spelt as "self-defeating" ... because by the time a person gets from, say, an airport to their place of quarantine, they have had contact with who knows how many people? And if the self-quarantined person turns out to be infected, how can anyone know or locate all the people with whom they have been in contact? *** Another reflection: stand by for a football season with empty stadiums ... and the cancellation in Australia of the Sydney Easter Show ... and .... ? *** Virus did not start in China (??)

Genesis
12-13: God
said to a man in the land of Haran named Abraham, "Leave
your own country and go to a new land I will give you. I will make you
into a great nation." So Abraham and his family left the land of Haran and
moved to the land of Canaan. God said to Abraham, "I will make your
descendants as many as the number of dust particles on the ground ....an
uncountable number." Even though Abraham and his wife Sarah were old
and had no children, Abraham believed God's promise to give them many
descendants.
Dear God, please help me to trust you like Abraham
My
recording of this reading

Psalm
33: Ring
out your joy to the Lord, all good people, for praise is fitting for loyal
hearts. For the Lord loves justice and right; he fills the earth with his love.
By his word the heavens were made, he spoke and the universe came into being. They
are happy, whose God is the Lord, he is the source of all true joy. May
your love be upon us, O Lord, since we place all our trust in you.
Lord,
we trust in your precious love

2
Timothy 1.8-10: I
remind you to fan into a flame the gift that God gave you when I prayed over you
with the laying on of hands. God's gift was not a spirit of timidity, but the
Spirit of power, and love and self-control. Never be ashamed of
witnessing to the Lord. Like me and with me, put up with hardships for the sake
of the Good News.
Jesus, help me put up with hardships for the
sake of the Good News

Matthew
17.1-8: One
day Jesus took his disciples Peter, James and John up a high mountain. On the
mountain Jesus' whole appearance changed. His face shone like the sun. His
clothes were as white as snow. The prophets Moses and Elijah appeared and
spoke with him. Peter said to Jesus "Lord,
how good it is for us to be here!" Then a bright cloud covered them
with its shadow. From the cloud came a voice: "This is my Son, the Beloved.
Listen to him." The disciples bowed to the ground. When they got up, they
saw only Jesus in his normal appearance.
Jesus,
Beloved Son of God, how good it is to spend time with you in prayer.

WE
BEHOLD THE SPLENDOR OF GOD SHINING ON THE FACE OF JESUS. WE BEHOLD THE SPLENDOR

JESUS,
LORD OF GLORY, JESUS, BELOVED SON. OH HOW GOOD TO BE WITH YOU, HOW GOOD TO SHARE
YOUR LIGHT, HOW GOOD TO SHARE YOUR LIGHT
WE
BEHOLD THE SPLENDOR OF GOD SHINING ON THE FACE OF JESUS. WE BEHOLD THE SPLENDOR
OF GOD SHINING ON THE FACE OF THE SON.

Hello from Brisbane where I arrived yesterday afternoon from
Melbourne. Sitting opposite me on the airport train to the city there was an
elderly Queensland man who had just arrived yesterday via Sydney from Shanghai.
He said Shanghai did not have any virus cases ....but just now I found this: 3
students bring virus from Iran to Shanghai! Man was asked by health officers
in Sydney to "self-quarantine" but with almost no supervision .... and
that's after being near many passengers on flight from Sydney (not to mention
his flight from Shanghai to Sydney). And what about the flight and cabin crews?
No need for quarantine? .... so many holes in the net.

149-150: Sing a new song to the Lord.

praise him in the heights. Praise him all his angels,
praise him all his spirits. Praise him, sun and moon,
praise him, shining stars. Let them praise the name of the Lord.

stormy winds that obey his word. Praise him all mountains and hills,
all fruit trees and cedars.
Praise him all animals, wild and tame, reptiles and birds in the air. Praise him all earth's kings and peoples,

7.1-23: Some religious leaders asked Jesus "Why

Isaiah:
"This people honors me with external lip-service,

"It's not certain foods or lack of washing that makes a person

unclean. Evil intentions like murder, adultery,
fornication, theft, perjury, slander. These are the things that make a
person unclean."

Psalm 147: Praise the Lord for he is good.
Sing to our God for he is loving. To him our praise is due. The Lord builds up Jerusalem
and brings back Israel's exiles. He heals the broken-hearted
and binds up all their wounds. The Lord raises the lowly
and humbles the wicked. He fixes the number of the stars.
He calls each one by name. Our Lord is great and almighty.
His wisdom can never be measured. He covers the heavens with clouds.
He prepares rain for the earth, making mountains sprout with grass
and with plants to serve our needs. His delight is not in horses
nor his pleasure in warriors' strength. The Lord delights in those who love and honor
him,
in those who wait for his love.
It is right and fitting to
praise and love you, Lord our Creator

James 3.16-17: Wherever you find jealousy and ambition, you
find disharmony and evil practices. On the other hand, wisdom from heaven is
good and peaceful and kindly and considerate. It is full of compassion,
and does good.
There is no trace of partiality or hypocrisy in it
Jesus, give me wisdom. Make me

Exodus
33: The Israelites continued their journey
through the desert.
Wherever the people camped,
Moses would put the Sacred Tent outside,
some distance from the camp.
Whenever Moses went out to the Tent,
the pillar of cloud came down on the Tent
and God spoke with Moses face to face,

Psalm
146: My soul, give
praise to the Lord.
I will praise the Lord all my days. Put no trust in
princes,
in mortal men in whom there is no help. Take their breath, they
return to clay
and their plans that day come to nothing. They are happy who are
helped by Jacob's God,
whose hope is in the Lord our God, who alone made heaven
and earth,
the seas and all they contain. It is he who gives
bread to the hungry,
the Lord, who sets prisoners free.
It is the Lord who
gives sight to the blind,
who raises up those who are bowed down. It is the Lord who
protects the stranger
and upholds the widow and orphan. It is the Lord who
loves the just
but thwarts the path of the wicked. The Lord will reign for
ever,
Zion's God, from age to age.

3.3-10: When a bit is put into a horse's mouth, the
whole animal is under control. A tiny rudder can control a big ship. In the same way,
if you can control your
tongue,
you can control every other part of yourself. The tongue is a whole wicked world in itself.

6.45-52: After feeding the crowd with 5 loaves and 2

Jesus told his disciples to go by boat across the nearby lake.
Jesus stayed to send the crowds away.
Then he went up into the hills to pray. When it was dark, the boat was far from land,
but battling large waves caused by a strong head-wind. Jesus then walked on the water towards the
boat.
He called out to his disciples "Courage. It is I. Don't be
afraid."
Then he got into the boat, and the wind stopped.
Jesus, please give me courage
