SCMP FB video report about my work
for the homeless has had 155k views and 4,300 likes, 286 comments (... check the
comments!). Hope it does a bit of
good to encourage govt to do more for the homeless. Many thanks to so many
people who have sent me W/App and email messages about the report. Will take me
several days to reply. God bless you all!
Yesterday I was in Lai Chi Kok men's prison for about six hours
.... on a very hot but very worthwhile day. As usual I came away with loads of
homework to do on behalf of prisoners.

78: Listen, everyone, to my teaching.
I will recount the lessons of our history. The things our parents have told us,
we will not hide from our children,
but will pass them on to the next generation. We want the next generation to know all that the Lord has done for us in the past.
May the next generation in turn
pass on this knowledge to their own children,
so that they too will put their hope in God
and never forget all that God has done for us. May future generations not be like our
ancestors
who so often were unfaithful to God. Even though our ancestors had seen God part
the sea,
even though they had seen him provide food and water for them
in the desert, still they went on sinning. Yet he who is full of compassion forgave and
spared them.
He remembered they were only weak humans. Eventually he brought them to the promised
land
and gave a home to each of Israel's tribes. But still they sinned by building mountain
shrines
and serving idols. Then God raised up David to be their
leader.
God called him from looking after sheep to be the shepherd of his people.

Mon June 14
Today a holiday in HK for the Dragon Boat Festival .... and a holiday in most parts of Australia for the Queen's Birthday. But no dragon boat racing this year because of Covid-19 restrictions.
After 10am Mass at Yau Ma Tei yesterday morning
and early lunch with a resident of the Alhambra Building where many homeless
people are now accommodated, I had a rest before taking part in several
gatherings in the afternoon .... for MercyHK team members, for people praying
for healing, for people who were in detention and for people who kindly visit
prisoners. The afternoon healing/prison group is evolving into a lovely family
group. (And see 
below!)

He said to God, "If I ask a woman for a drink and she answers
'Please take some of my water,

Yesterday at the Dr Jesus Centre, Simon & Sr Louise (my social work assistants) and I attended the weekly lunch gathering for Temple Street young mothers (.. let the reader understand ...) with 6 young women. At 3pm we then had the weekly gathering for homeless people, with about a dozen guests. God bless all at yesterday's functions!
At the gathering for homeless people 2 days ago at the Ginkgo Restaurant in the
Alhambra Building, Yau Ma Tei, restaurant manager Mr Chan Chi Ming gave a moving
testimony about his addiction to gambling .... until helped by a Special Friend.

of Mary): Joseph and Mary moved back to their own town
of Nazareth.
The child Jesus was filled with wisdom as he grew older. Each year Joseph and Mary would take
Jesus to Jerusalem for the celebration of the Passover. When Jesus
was 12 years old, they went to Jerusalem as usual. But when their traveling group left Jerusalem,
Jesus stayed behind without his parents knowing it. They presumed he
was somewhere with the group. When they couldn't find him, they went back
to Jerusalem to look for him. After 2 days, they found him, in the Temple,
listening to the religion teachers and asking them questions. People who
heard him were astounded at his intelligence. His mother said to him "My child, why
have you done this to us? Your father and I have been really worried about
you". Jesus replied "Why were you looking for
me? Didn't you know that I must be concerned with my Father's
work?" But they didn't understand what he meant. He went with them to Nazareth and lived under
their authority.
His mother stored all these things in her heart
