Hello one more time from Kuala Lumpur where yesterday I had more meetings with families of prisoners in
HK. This afternoon I'm due to fly to Singapore for a flight to Africa. Today on Day
8 of this anti-drug
trafficking trip, I again ask God's blessing on all who made the trip possible and on
everyone praying for the trip ... and on all I am meeting on the trip.

Thank you for this moving article. President Biden needs to follow his
conscience instead of being beholden to the 70,000,000 evangelical voters who,
sadly, have a false understanding of the role of Israel in the world after being
brainwashed by TV evangelists who propagate twisted Bible teaching ....holding
that Israel has the right to do whatever it wants in Gaza....which view, it must
be said, is opposed by many concerned Jewish people in the US and in Israel.
What happened on October 7 was totally evil. But what Israel has been doing in
Gaza since October 7 is nothing short of genocide.

2.39-52: Joseph and
Mary moved back to their own town of Nazareth. The child Jesus was filled with
wisdom as he grew older Each year Joseph and Mary would take Jesus to
Jerusalem for the celebration of the Passover. When Jesus was 12 years
old, they went to Jerusalem as usual. But when their traveling group left
Jerusalem, Jesus stayed behind without his parents knowing it. They
presumed he was somewhere with the group. When they couldn't find him, they went
back to Jerusalem to look for him. After 2 days, they found him, in the Temple,
listening to the religion teachers and asking them questions. People who heard
him were astounded at his intelligence. His mother said to him "My child,
why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been really worried about
you". Jesus replied "Why were you looking for me? Didn't you know that
I must be concerned with my Father's work?" But they didn't
understand what he meant. He
went with them to Nazareth and lived under their authority. His mother
stored all these things in her heart

Yesterday
morning after breakfast at my hotel in Bangkok, when I got the lift back to my
room, there were two men. I said hello to them and found out they were from the
Phillipines...from Mindanao where the Oblates work! They asked me where I was
from and I said Australia. They asked which place. I said Brisbane. One of them
said he has been living in Brisbane for 41 years! I asked him what suburb in
Brisbane. He said Wynnum ...which is where my family lived for 25 years. In fact
he lives in Waterview Ave where I used to deliver newspapers from my bike
....and he works in Tingal Road where my family home was! How do you spell
"small world"?!

Hello again from Bangkok where yesterday morning I attended a
most important meeting. In the afternoon I planned to attend another meeting
but my tuk tuk driver got lost and after much meandering stopped outside an
important looking building to ask directions. Turned out the important looking
building was a better place for me to go than the place I had planned to go! So
I went in and was warmly welcomed by three very special people ...who were
about to finish work for the year...but who kindly stayed on to spend time with
me... resulting in a meeting that was even more blessed than the one in the
morning! God's plans are better than ours! Today on Day 3 of this anti-drug
trafficking trip, I again ask God's blessing on all who made the trip possible and on
everyone praying for the trip ... and on everyone I met yesterday!.

of the Holy Innocents:
Matthew 2.13-23: After
the wise men left Bethlehem, an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and said
"Go quickly to Egypt, because Herod wants to kill the child". That
same night, Joseph got up and set out for Egypt with Mary and Jesus. Herod was
angry after being tricked by the wise men. He
got his soldiers to kill all baby boys two years old or younger in Bethlehem.
After Herod died some months later, an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and
told him to return to Israel. Joseph, Mary and Jesus moved to the town of
Nazareth, thus fulfilling the prophecy about the Saviour: "He will be
called a Nazarene".

I watched a live "Listening Post" program on Al Jazeera ...which I
can't now find a link for ... which explains why President Joe Biden is
