Jesus Centre to plan the renovation of a building in Yuen Long which, Please
God, will be a MercyHK drug rehabilitation centre by the end of the year.
Renovation is being arranged by a most kind architect from the University of HK

I call to you for help, but day and night you give no reply. I am a worm and not a man.
Everyone who sees me makes fun of me. They taunt me: "He trusted in the
Lord, why doesn't the Lord help him?" Like water I am poured out, my bones no longer
connected.
My throat is parched, my tongue sticks to my jaws. Many evil people attack me.
They make holes in my hands and my feet.
They await my death. They divide my clothing among them,
they throw a dice for my robe. Yet I know Lord, that you are good and
holy.
I know how you heard the cries of our ancestors and you helped them. It was you who took me from the womb

think I would not survive. This has taught me to rely not on myself but
only on God for help. God saved me from being killed. My hope is he

protected them. Holofernes ignored Achior's advice
and decided to attack the Israelites.

Pointing to some birds flying around, Jesus said:

How beautiful are the flowers.
They are more beautiful than King Solomon's clothing. If God cares so much about the life of flowers
won't he care even more about human life? So, don't spend your day worrying about
what you are going to eat and drink and wear. Put God first in your life, God and a right
way of life,
then God will look after your physical needs. Don't waste your energy worrying about
tomorrow.
Live life one day at a time.

was to be put on trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, fastened with
chains, with more soldiers at the prison entrance. Suddenly Peter's cell was
filled with light, and an
angel told him to get up. The
chains fell from his hands. The angel led Peter out of the prison,
without the guards knowing what was happening. Peter then left for another
place. Herod was unable to find him.

Yesterday I was at Tai Lam women's prison from 9.15am to 5.15pm
.... and ran out of time to see all the cases I needed to see ...so ...will need
to go back there again next week. A couple of times I was close to tears when I
heard stories from some of the women who have several young children who might
not see them for a long time

2-4: Nebuchadnezzar summoned his top general Holofernes
and gave him a huge army to punish the nations
that had not joined him for the war against Arphaxad. Nation after nation, people after people, fell to the sword of
Holofernes.
Some places made peace with Holofernes
by giving him all their possessions and then becoming slaves of
Nebuchadnezzar, worshipping Nebuchadnezzar as a god.
As the army of Holofernes approached Israel,
the Israelites fasted and prayed to God for help.
They also blocked the mountain passes to delay Holofernes' advance.

God's handwriting.
The sun is God's love shining on the whole world. The universe is a masterpiece, and so is God's

The law of the Lord gives joy and wisdom to our hearts. The decrees of the Lord are to be desired more
than gold,
they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. But often we are unaware of our
errors.

Luke 2.39-52 (for
feast of Immaculate Heart of Mary): Joseph
and Mary moved back to their own town of Nazareth. The child Jesus was filled
with wisdom as he grew older. Each year Joseph and Mary would take Jesus
to Jerusalem for the celebration of the Passover. When Jesus was 12 years
old, they went to Jerusalem as usual. But when their traveling group left
Jerusalem, Jesus stayed behind without his parents knowing it. They
presumed he was somewhere with the group. When they couldn't find him, they went
back to Jerusalem to look for him. After 2 days, they found him, in the
Temple, listening to the religion teachers and asking them questions. People who
heard him were astounded at his intelligence. His mother said to him "My
child, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been really worried
about you". Jesus replied "Why were you looking for me? Didn't you
know that I must be concerned with my Father's work?" But they didn't
understand what he meant. He went with them to Nazareth and lived under their
authority. His
mother stored all these things in her heart
Jesus, please help all "lost children" to be found!

Reflection on the above Gospel: Mary got involved, from start to finish

Recently a fireman came to all the old buildings in
Temple Street with an offer from the government for alarm systems. I took the
opportunity to ask the fireman to check the fire extinguisher of the Dr Jesus
Centre. He said it has passed its expiry date. So a few days ago I bought a new
one ...which has a life span of 5 years. I have made a note to replace it in
five years (if I am still around!)

"Not one of his bones will be broken" and "They will look on the

Jesus, please help me understand how blood and water are symbols of the
Eucharist and Baptism

When Nebuchadnezzar was king of the
Assyrians,
he fought a war with King Arphaxad and his supporting nations.
Nebuchadnezzar sent a message to the nations
near Assyria
to help him fight Arphaxad. But the peoples of those places ignored
Nebuchadnezzar.
They thought victory was beyond him. But Nebuchadnezzar was in fact victorious
and after his victory he set out to punish the nations which
had refused his call for help.

Greater still is spiritual blindness. God must be number one in your life.
Don't let money or anything else replace God.

night 8 women who work on Temple Street attended the weekly gathering at the Dr
Jesus Centre in Temple Street ...with meal from next door MercyHK canteen and
short Bible reading and prayer in centre prayer room. Last week the group was
not very hungry, but last night they were very, very hungry .... and extra
dumplings had to be ordered!
