article by Bishop Geoff Robinson on today's menu has the words
I am not suggesting that the preference
for celibacy is the sole or even predominant cause of abuse, but I believe it
has made a significant contribution, both directly and indirectly. It has
certainly been a major contributor to the other massive problem the church has
not yet begun to face: the sexual abuse of adult females. (in
section 5)
In the next few days, maybe tomorrow if time allows, I will try to start a new file: The link between sexual abuse and compulsory celibacy
People used to say there's no link, but now more and more people are talking about a link.
Common
