187: Yesterday there were three very special gatherings at the Dr Jesus Centre in Temple Street: lunch for a group of loyal O.M.I. friends from Notre Dame Parish in Ma Tau Wei; an afternoon gathering for Camay and some of the many friends who have been encouraging her in her fight against stage four lung cancer; the usual early evening gathering for prison visitors and former prisoners.

After a brief visit to the High Court for two cases yesterday morning I returned to Jordan for the usual two most worthwhile Friday gatherings at the Dr Jesus Centre: lunch with a group of mothers who work on Temple Street and a gathering for homeless people. One of the mothers at the lunch group showed Simon (MercyHK's social assistant) and me a video of her child at a kindergarten activity in Guangzhou!

came away sad from the High Court building yesterday morning after a failed case
in the Court of Appeal ..... because there was an
elephant in the room .... absolutely no mention at the original sentencing
or the appeal of the guy responsible for everyone being in court yesterday: a
Nigerian guy who arranged for a simple South American woman to bring drugs to
HK.
My

congratulated them. Then the man told me "that's my daughter and

After briefly attending two cases at the High Court in Admiralty
yesterday morning, I had morning tea with a barrister who told me about a
"Devil's Breath" case (see below). Then I walked to Central for a
McDonald's chat with a journalist who hopefully will post a report on the
HK mentally disturbed man due to be executed in China soon. Then I spent
time at Catholic Centre Chapel praying for many people. Then back to McDs for
chat with another journalist who is investigating drug trafficking in HK. Then
back to High Court for final hour of case of young Malaysian man whose drug
trafficking trial continues.
Only
yesterday did I learn about this science-fiction type drug now afflicting HK: "Devil's
Breath" victims count losses *** "Devil's
Breath" world's scariest drug?

Early yesterday morning as I headed to the High Court I took my
trusty Toshiba laptop with me ... thinking I could do some office work between
my brief attendance at a 10am case and then reappearance at same case late
afternoon (needed to be there am and afternoon since I am surety for the
Defendant). Turned out that so many things happened during the day that the
next time I touched my Toshiba was when I got home after 6pm!
