Australia's asylum seeker vergogna (A thought: any country
which is generous to asylum seekers ...will be blessed by the Good Lord
...as the US grew strong when it welcomed the arrival of new settlers in
the previous two centuries. This doesn't mean an "open door"
policy, but it does mean a compassionate policy as used to exist in
Canada, the US and Australia. |

holding of referendums at the federal level in the United States, which
the Constitution does not provide for. A constitutional amendment would be

Sunday blogger (Canada) Excommunication…What a Way to Witness to the Love of God I find it absolutely idiotic that anyone should be thrown out of the Church because they have experienced and understand that Christ is incarnated in men and women alike and the Holy Spirit is able to empower men and women alike with the same spiritual gifts, including ecclesiastical leadership. I wonder how many Catholics deserve excommunication by the Vatican’s standards? |

man who tried to take his life yesterday morning. I came across his
parents sobbing in a local hospital as doctors tried to save the son's
life. I told the parents I'd pray for the son and for themselves, and ask
others to do the same. I gave the parents my name and phone number but
didn't ask them their details. No news late last night. Jesus, "A-Lam" is in your hands, you who felt sorry for the Naim widow |

Yesterday one of those days when "God was in his Heaven" (...everything went well). Inmates at Lai Chi Kok Detention Centre were into healing prayer (see link at top of this menu) ....then when I neared my home (which is in a "Red light" district) a senior madame who has been most unwilling to say hello for the past few years became quite communicative, and we are now on first name terms. blogger Reflection on October 13 Sunday readings: Gratitude “Gratitude may be the purest measure of one's character and spiritual condition. The absence of the ability to be grateful reveals self-centeredness or the attitude that I deserve more than I ever get, so I do not need to be grateful” The word Eucharist originates from a Greek noun that means thanksgiving.
