Jeremiah
8-11 My people have forgotten God. Lord, you know how weak we are. Correct us gently, Lord, correct us gently |
Psalm
71 (let's pray this on
behalf of people being attacked by IS) Be a rock where I can take refuge. It is you, O Lord, who are my hope. In you I have trusted since I was young. From my mother's womb you have been my help. My hope has always been in you. Now that I am old, please do not forget me. Now that my strength fails, do not abandon me. Now that I am old and grey-headed, may I continue to trust in you and proclaim your help. To you I will sing with the harp. Lord, may all elderly people put their trust and hope in you |
I pray that you will continue to grow in your Christian life, a life full of good deeds Never give in when trials come, but bravely, even joyfully, carry your cross each day Keep on thanking the Father who has rescued us from the power of darkness, and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we gain our freedom, the forgiveness of our sins Father, thank you for letting me be a Christian. Help me be a good Christian

Luke 18.9-14 Some people prided themselves on being virtuous, and despised others. Jesus told them this story: Two men went to the Temple to pray, one a religious leader, the other a social outcast The leader stood there and said "I thank you, God, that I am not greedy, unjust and adulterous like other people such as this outcast here" The outcast did not even raise his eyes, but beat his breast and said "God, be merciful to me, a sinner" The outcast, I tell you, went home a friend of God. The leader did not. People who exalt themselves will be humbled. People who humble themselves will be exalted Jesus, be merciful to me, a sinner |

Jeremiah
7 "You people of Judah who come here to worship, amend your behavior and actions, and then I, the Lord, will meet you here in this Temple. Do not exploit the stranger, the orphan and the widow. Do not follow alien gods, do not break the Commandments. If you don't care about bad behavior
and yet keep on coming to my Temple for worship, This nation refuses to listen to the Lord. Sincerity has vanished since worship and behavior are not related." Lord, please help me "practise what I preach" |
Psalms
69-70 So many people hate me without cause. I have no more strength to resist them. May my situation not cause anyone to lose faith in you. May people realize that it is for your sake that I am taunted. Taunts have broken my heart. No one shows me any compassion. For food they give me poison. In my thirst they give me vinegar to drink. Lord, do not hide your face from your servant. Answer quickly for I am in distress. You are my rescuer, my help, O God. O Lord, do not delay to help me. O God come to our assistance. Lord make haste to help us

From Paul, appointed by God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, to the Christians in Colossae. Grace and peace to you from God our Father I always pray for you and give thanks for your faith in Christ Jesus, and the love you show to others because of the hope which is stored up for you in heaven The Good News is spreading all over the world, bringing blessings to so many people Jesus, increase my faith, hope and love. Help me spread the Good News in my corner of the world
|
Luke 18.1-7
Jesus told his disciples a story about the
need to pray continually and never lose heart: For a long time the judge refused to help her, but at last he said to himself "I must give this widow her rights or she will pester me to death" Even more so God will see that justice is done for those who cry out to him for help day and night, even if he delays to help them Jesus, please give me the perseverance to pray each day

Psalm
19 The stars can't speak, but they are God's handwriting. The sun is God's love shining on the whole world. The universe is a masterpiece, and so is God's law which shines in our hearts. The precepts of the Lord enlighten our lives each day. The law of the Lord gives joy and wisdom to our hearts. The decrees of the Lord are to be desired more than gold, they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. But often we are unaware of our errors. Lord, please protect us from making mistakes. Lord, may the words of my mouth

The language of the Cross doesn't make sense for some people. But for us it is God's power to save While the Jews demand miracles and the Greeks require philosophy, here we are preaching a crucified Christ: to the Jews an obstacle they cannot get over, to the pagans madness During my stay with you, I relied not on philosophy or my own efforts, but only on the power of the Spirit The wisdom we teach is about things no eye has seen, and no ear has heard, things beyond human understanding - all that God has prepared for those who love him Jesus, crucified Lord, please increase my faith in you

John 2.13-22 Just before the Passover Feast, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the Temple he saw people selling cattle and sheep and pigeons, with money changers sitting at their counting tables Jesus made a whip out of some cord, then drove the sellers out of the Temple, cattle and sheep as well. He scattered the money changers' coins, knocked their tables over, and said to the pigeon sellers "Take all of this out of here and stop turning my Father's house into a market" Some religious leaders asked him "What sign can you show us to justify what you have done?" Jesus answered "Destroy this sanctuary,
and in three days I will raise it up". The leaders replied
"It has taken 46 years to build this sanctuary" Jesus, please don't let churches and prayer centers become centers of commerce

Psalms
66-68 Let all the peoples praise you, O God. Let all the peoples praise you. O sing to the Lord, make music to his name. Rejoice in the Lord, exult at his presence. Father of the orphan, defender of the widow, God provides a shelter for the homeless. God gives his people strength. May all the peoples of the earth know you and praise you, O God

My body and soul thirst for you like a dry, weary land without water. Your love is better than life, my lips will speak your praise. On my bed I remember you. On you I muse through the night. You
are the Creator of the world. To you our praise is due, wherever we are on earth. Lord, my soul clings to you. Your right hand holds me fast |

Jeremiah
1 God said to Jeremiah: "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. I have appointed you as prophet to the nations." Jeremiah said to God: "Lord, I do not know how to speak. I am so young." God then touched Jeremiah's mouth and said: "I now put my words into your mouth. Go and tell the people everything I ask you to speak. Do not be dismayed by anyone. I am making you strong. You must confront Judah's kings, priests and people. They will oppose you, but will not overcome you, for I am with you." Lord, please give special

Psalms
52-60 Thank you for so often rescuing me from trouble. You uphold my life. Sometimes I have so many troubles and cares
that I can't get to sleep. When I fear, I will trust in you, My heart is ready, O God, my heart is ready. I will sing, I will sing your praise. Each morning I will sing of your strength, and each morning acclaim your love. O God, please help me to praise and love you every day
